Happy Holidays! Just a quick post to show off a couple of things I had printed before Christmas. One is the wall calendar I offer and the other is one of the hard cover books I designed for a client. I've partnered with some great printer/suppliers so I'm excited to add these and other products to my offerings - they'll be on the website soon!

CONTEST TIME!

Ok, here it is, my first contest. As the year is coming to a close, I've taken some time to look back on all the fun shoots I've had and chosen my favourite 10 photos. Although I'd love to showcase one from each shoot, it would just be too many to ask voters to look at so I narrowed it down - it was tougher than I expected! All my 'other favourites' have been posted on my website. This is NOT a cutest kid contest (not a fan of those) - these are simply my picks chosen because of a feeling it evokes, a certain look, composition, colour - you name it.

What I'm asking people to do is take a look below at the 10 shots, fire off an email to info@kellymacdonaldphoto.com and give me the number of your favourite - numbers are found directly ABOVE photo (and there's a prize for voters too). I'll only accept one vote per email address and to keep this fair and from becoming a popularity contest, I'm going to invite some fellow photographers and my own friends to weigh in on their choice.

Here's the deal. The contest will be open for 7 days (December 15 to December 21). The winner will be posted here, on December 22. The person(s) in the photo garnering the most votes will receive their choice of:

1. A 2009 wall calendar - custom designed to showcase photos from your shoot;

2. A 11x14 print of the winning photo or any other photo from their shoot (mounted and ready to frame);

3. An 8" x 8" square, 20-25 page custom designed and printed softcover book of photos from your shoot; or

4. A $75 gift certificate to go towards a second photo session or to give as a gift.

AND, to thank everyone who votes, I'll do a random draw of all voters and the winner will receive $35 off a session.

So spread the word, get family and friends to vote and GOOD LUCK : )

HOLIDAY CARDS

Thought I'd show a few of the holiday card orders that have been printed. I'm anxiously awaiting books and calendars and will post a photo of those when they arrive.

(KEEP WATCHING FOR THE UPCOMING CONTEST - I'LL BE POSTING DETAILS IN A FEW DAYS)

thanks for looking : )

Sorry I've been MIA the last few weeks - I've been swamped with orders (prints, books, calendars, cards.... you name it) but I'm starting to see the light and promise to post soon. AND I have a contest coming up so stay tuned : )

As promised, here are some more pics from the farm shoot last weekend. And if you haven't already, scroll down to the previous post to see these cute kids up close!

And because new babies can't have as much fun at the farm as the 'big kids', we had a bit of our own fun before heading out ...

What an afternoon... 7 kids at a farm in the middle of Toronto - sun was shining, animals were roaming, treats were plenty. Check out these cuties (what a gorgeous group of kids). I'll post more 'together' and 'fun' shots in a couple of days - just too many for one post! enjoy : )

I've been in Woodstock for just over a year now - still not sure if the reality has sunk in (I still, deep down, think I live in Toronto). Woodstock is a place many of us said we'd never come back to live in - and a place in which many of us are now back living.

I had a great time the other day photographing an old friend, her husband and her three adorable (not a great word for an eleven year old so I'll throw in another) and cool boys. Thank you to a family so willing to play out my visions. They never once doubted, denied or hesitated. Enjoy these shots - I'll let you know when the rest are ready.

So, here I sit on a friday night, editing photos from my last shoot and thinking about tomorrow's shoot. Forecast says rain for the next 3 days and then light flurries. What happened to the sunny, warm, coloured days of fall?

Then these pictures come up and remind me of our last great fall day...

I'm really not ready for days like this to end.

I know 'mom' is waiting for a peek so here we go...
These two little girls have the biggest brown eyes (seems to be a common theme with my clients). They played hard and were so good! Here's 'big sister'

and her little sidekick. Mom warned me she 'doesn't warm up to people easily' - she proved mom wrong on this day! I got hugs, handholds (if there is such a thing - you get the point) and lots of smiles : )

...and very sweet together!

Thank you to a beautiful family - I so enjoyed spending time with you.

Here's the deal...

THE SPOT HAS BEEN FILLED - THANKS. CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOUR GIRLS PATTY : )

I just had a last minute cancellation for a shoot this Sunday. Because I hate to waste what promises to be a great fall day, I'm offering 50% OFF THE SESSION FEE for the first person who can fill the space. If you, or anyone you know, is free this Sunday, October 19, and would like a photo shoot for half the usual price, contact me asap.

(spread the word)

After postponing the shoot a couple of hours in hopes of better weather, then dodging the mosquitos at location one, we found ourselves at a park where the kids were free to run and play. And that they did...

These three were so good and so entertaining : )

Thank you to a super nice family for making it such an easy shoot. Hope you enjoy this sneak peek. I'll be in touch when the rest are ready.

Just in the process of updating the blog to include BIGGER pics... yay! Please bear with me if you're checking and things seem a bit out of wack.
It's been close to two years since I saw this little lady. She's now all grown up at the age of three... how time flies

And she's also a big sister now to the cutest (and most well behaved I must add) little girl.

Thank you to a great family. Hope you enjoy this 'sneak peek'.

I had the pleasure of spending a morning with this little lady and her entourage the other day (I say that in admiration of all the love and attention this little gal gets). Only two days younger than my own son, I know this busy age well - a challenge to photograph but a joy to watch. This sweetie was full of personality and spunk! To her mom, who was kept in the dark about this whole thing, and to the rest of the family.... I hope you enjoy this quick peek at what went down the other morning.
